Service Announcements for October 18th
Thank you for being a part of our service. If you would like to know more about Self-Realization Fellowship or this Temple, the Information Table on the upper patio has free literature and useful tools for everyone. Volunteers there can answer your general questions. You can also visit our website, sandiegotemple.org, for the latest news on Temple events. There you’ll also find links to join online meditations, view inspirational services and apply for the SRF Lessons. The Lessons give detailed instructions on how to meditate and live a spiritually balanced life.
Kriyaban Ceremony
A Kriyaban ceremony will be conducted on Saturday, October 24th, beginning at 6 PM. Please remember to bring the traditional offerings of a fruit, flowers, and a monetary donation to the ceremony. Your personal SRF Kriyaban card, paper or digital, is required for entrance. Doors will open at 5:30.
Grounds Closure
Temple grounds will be closed to the public from tomorrow, Monday, October 19th through Friday October 23rd. This is to perform annual tree-trimming maintenance and canyon floors clearing to be in compliance with the City’s fire code. The grounds will reopen to the public on Saturday, October 24th. The grounds will again be closed for 3 days of the following week, from Monday, October 26th through Wednesday October 28th for roof repair, with the grounds to be reopened on Thursday October 29th. Morning meditations are cancelled on all those days.
Brothers Nikhilananda and Santoshananda
Brothers Santoshananda and Nikhilananda, both beloved ministers who led services at this temple, passed away recently.
Our dear minister, Brother Nikhilananda, passed away last Sunday, October 11th. He was much loved for the kindness and love that he expressed in the Sunday Services he gave here at San Diego Temple. While he didn’t get the opportunity to physically read the messages with the card we signed for him last Sunday, we trust that he felt the love that his beloved San Diego Temple devotees expressed towards him.
Brother Santoshananda was the minister-in-charge of San Diego Temple for several years. There will be a Memorial service for this highly respected and much loved Brother next Sunday, October 25, at 2:00pm at the Encinitas Temple. All are warmly invited to attend.
Plans for a Memorial Service for Brother Nikhilananda will be shared at a later date.
Please continue to send your love and good will to both Brothers Nikhilananda and Santoshananda. We take comfort in knowing that they are now enjoying greater freedom in Spirit, embraced in Master’s infinite love.
